Travel-Inspired Baking

This week on IGTV, our editor-and-chief, Brian Hart Hoffman, takes us on an international baking journey! Because we’ve all been at home for a few weeks now, we’re hoping to fill your kitchens with some variety and a little travel inspiration. From a French gâteau loaf to a cheesy take on Japanese milk bread, you and your family can enjoy a little around-the-world adventure in your very own homes. Tune in to our Instagram (@thebakefeed) to follow along!

1. Small-Batch Four-Cheese Pull-Apart Milk Bread

We gave Japanese milk bread a savory twist by filling this loaf with a quartet of melted mozzarella, provolone, fontina, and cream cheese. With buttery pull-apart layers, this recipe is made for sharing. Just put it on the table and watch your guests tear off their own piece of downy perfection.

2. Gâteau Basque Loaf

We took the classic French one-layer cake (our editor-in-chief’s favorite!) from round to rectangle. A tender, golden crust encases a surprise center of thick, velvety Custard Filling, a defining factor of the original gâteau Basque, with a thin layer of fresh blueberries to bring brightness to every slice.

3. Signature DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookies

For more than 25 years, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels have been welcoming guests with a warm chocolate chip cookie at check in. That’s about 65,000 a day and around 25,000,000 per year! Now that DoubleTree has officially released their legendary cookie recipe, you can bake a batch yourself in your own kitchen.
