Cherry Cheesecake Sliders
Sliders have come a long way since the 1940s when sailors in the U.S. Navy would eat mini hamburgers. The hamburgers were so greasy, they would ‘slide’ down the sailors’ throats in about 2 bites! When I think of sliders, I immediately think of White Castle.
Although White Castle has desserts, they do not offer dessert sliders, but after they see this recipe, they just might! These cheesecake sliders have all the flavors of cherry cheesecake, right up to the graham cracker ‘crust’ topping!
Cherry Cheesecake Sliders Recipe
There are three parts to this dessert slider recipe–the sliders, the graham cracker topping, and the sweet cream cheese frosting.

How to Make Sliders
To make these sliders, grab a 9×13-inch baking dish (but they can also fit in a smaller dish like an 8×11-inch dish). Spray the pan with some non-stick spray and lay the bottom halves of the rolls in the pan. Combine the cream cheese and sugar in a small bowl and spread this mixture over the bottoms of the rolls. Top that with the cherry pie filling and the top halves of the rolls.
How to Make the Topping
My favorite part about cheesecake is the graham cracker crust, so I had to incorporate that into the recipe somehow, so I added it to the tops of the sliders. To make the topping, melt the butter in a small bowl and mix in the crushed graham crackers and sugar.
Use a pastry brush to brush the graham cracker mixture over the tops of the buns. Bake for 20 minutes covered with aluminum foil, followed by 5 more minutes uncovered. At some point during the baking, prepare the frosting.
How to Make the Frosting
This cream cheese frosting will be drizzled on the freshly baked sliders after you take them out of the oven the final time. To make the frosting, combine the cream cheese (yes, more cream cheese?), butter, vanilla, and confectioners’ sugar in a medium bowl. Mix these ingredients until it becomes creamy. Drizzle this on the warm sliders. Cut the sliders apart and serve warm. You will definitely need a fork to get all the flavors in one bite!

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup (half stick or 57g) butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup (125g) confectioners' sugar
Instructions
-
To get started, preheat your oven to 350°F.
-
Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by spraying it with nonstick spray.
-
Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half, placing just the bottom halves in the prepared dish and setting the tops of the rolls aside.
-
In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese and sugar, mixing until smooth.
-
Spread the cream cheese mixture over the bottom halves of the rolls that are in the baking dish.
-
On top of the cream cheese spread, add the cherry pie filling.
-
Place the top halves of the buns on top of the cherry pie filling.
-
It is now time to make the graham cracker topping. Before you can combine the ingredients, be sure to crush a few graham crackers until you have 1/4 cup of crumbs.
-
In a medium bowl, melt the butter.
-
Add the graham cracker crumbs and sugar to the melted butter.
-
Use a pastry brush to brush the graham cracker mixture over the tops of the buns.
-
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake the sliders for 20 minutes.
-
After the 20 minutes, remove the foil from the baking dish, and bake for an additional 5 minutes (or until the tops of the sliders turn a golden brown).
-
Meanwhile, it's time to make the cream cheese frosting that you will drizzle over the baked Cherry Cheesecake Sliders.
-
In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and confectioners' sugar. Mix these ingredients until smooth and creamy.
-
After you have removed the sliders from the oven the final time, drizzle the cream cheese mixture over the hot sliders.
-
Slice and serve.
