Five minutes with Ravinder Bhogal


Chef, cookbook author and restauranteur Ravinder Bhogal opened Jikoni in Marylebone in 2016. The restaurant’s menu spans cultures (expect South Asian, African, Middle Eastern and British influences) and focuses on dishes influenced by family cooking. Ravinder, husband Nadeem and their team have an impressive commitment to sustainability, with ingredients being sourced from local sustainable businesses, waste kept to a minimum, and as much as possible being recycled.

We caught up with Ravinder to find out what dishes are on her table this Christmas and why the government’s lack of support for the hospitality sector irks her…
